No:002/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan Lee Eun-Young

On January 8, 2022, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Lee Eun-Young.   

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ambassador Lee Eun-Young on his appointment and wished him success in his work. The Minister noted the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea, as well as the wide range of opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in many areas. He stressed the importance of further developing economic cooperation, emphasizing the activities of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea in this regard.  

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to the opposite side about the history of the aggressive policy pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the position of the international community on the issue, the 44-day Patriotic war, the situation in the region after the signing of trilateral statements, the threat of landmines, restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories. 

 

Ambassador Lee Eun-Young, in his turn, thanked Minister Jeyhun Bayramov for the reception and expressed satisfaction with his appointment to Azerbaijan. The Ambassador noted the successful development of relations between the two countries and touched upon the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea in political, economic, educational, and other fields.

 

The sides discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Korea, as well as cooperation within international organizations. At the same time, the issues of involving companies of the Republic of Korea in the restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated areas were discussed.  

 

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
