No:027/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva

On January 28, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva.
 
Congratulating our country on assuming the chairmanship of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation, V.Andreeva welcomed the priorities set by our country as chairman and wished success to our country during its chairmanship. She recalled with satisfaction the visit of the UNHCR mission to our country in October 2021, emphasizing the UNHCR's readiness to support the Azerbaijani government in the return of Azerbaijani IDPs to their lands in accordance with the provisions of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020.
 
Touching upon the cooperation of our country with other UN specialized agencies and foundations, Vladanka Andreeva said that the UN Environment Programme is ready to support the restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems in the liberated areas. She informed that a series of events are planned to be held during the year in connection with the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's accession to the UN, which will be celebrated in 2022.
 
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of chairing the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum, noting that he visited Vienna to present the priorities of our country and exchanged views with the delegations of the OSCE participating States. He said Azerbaijan would pay attention to a number of global challenges during its chairmanship. Noting the success of the UNHCR mission's visit to our country, the Minister also stressed the existence of useful cooperation with other UN agencies.
 
Noting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to environmental issues, the Minister recalled that the liberated areas have been declared a green energy zone and emphasized that all projects are implemented with special attention to environmental issues.
 
It was stressed that the Azerbaijani government plans to hold a number of events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's accession to the UN.
 
At the meeting, the issues related to practical cooperation in migration, the Sustainable Development Goals and other areas were also discussed.
