No:275/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the event and exhibition held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria

On June 6, 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event and exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Azerbaijan, members of the Milli Majlis and other public figures.

The event began with the national anthems of both countries.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations and cooperation between the two countries. Noting the developing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, including economic, energy, information technology, security, tourism, agriculture, transport, Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov said that our relations are also developing within international organizations. Describing the strategic relations between the two countries, Khalaf Khalafov noted that the two countries have friendly relations based on mutual respect for the fundamental principles of international law, including the inviolability of borders, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking later, Bulgarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolay Yankov noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have maintained friendly relations on the basis of mutual respect and that relations have been developing dynamically over the past 30 years. The Ambassador stressed that despite the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992, the history of our relations is much older. Recalling the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov to Bulgaria from May 31 to June 1, 2022, the Ambassador noted that the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria Strategic Dialogue was held under the leadership of the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, and that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan had important meetings with the President, Prime Minister and Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament. Expressing gratitude for the organization of the exhibition, which reflects the main points of bilateral relations between the two countries, Ambassador Nikolay Yankov extended his congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, and wished further development of existing friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
