No:368/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the meeting held at MFA with the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Azerbaijan

On August 19, 2022, Elnur Mammadov the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Abdullah Muhammad Almauidi, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

E.Mammadov congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and wished him success in his future activities.  Emphasizing that common cultural and religious roots connect Azerbaijan and Kuwait, the Deputy Minister noted that there is mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries within the framework of international institutions, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The Deputy Minister emphasized the special role of high-level visits, as well as inter-parliamentary relations in the development of bilateral relations.  Touching on the cooperation in the economic field, he highlighted as gratifying the recent increase in the volume of trade turnover between the two countries, pointed out that the Intergovernmental Joint Commission is a convenient mechanism for the development of relations in this direction.

The Deputy Minister also informed his interlocutor about the Patriotic War and the liberation of our territories from occupation, and spoke about the restoration and construction works currently being carried out in our territories liberated from occupation.

In turn, Ambassador A. Almauidi expressed his gratitude for the reception. Emphasizing their interest in the development of relations with friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan in all fields, including political area, economy, trade and tourism, he noted that he will spare no effort to contribute to the development of bilateral ties during the period of his activity.

At the end of the meeting Ambassador Abdullah Muhammad Almauidi presented a copy of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov.
