No:040/23, Press release on the phone call between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov

On January 27, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov called Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov in connection with the terrorist attack against the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov strongly condemned the armed attack on our Embassy in Iran and expressed his condolences to the family of the murdered employee of the Embassy, leadership, and the people of Azerbaijan. He emphasized that it is necessary to bring the criminal to justice as soon as possible.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked his colleague for his call and condolences. Minister condemned the treacherous terrorist attack. It has been pointed out that the perpetrators of the said terrorist act, as well as its instigators, should be identified and punished in the most severe manner as soon as possible.
