Art and photo exhibitions dedicated to the cultural capital of Azerbaijan Shusha, at the international festival "Soleil" in Sozopol

As part of the Azerbaijani evening of the 13th International Francophone Festival "Soley" in Sozopol, art and photo exhibitions were presented, as well as a musical and poetic evening dedicated to the cultural and historical heritage of the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan.

At the first exhibition "Shusha - the pearl of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan", organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Bulgaria with the support of the Baku Media Center, paintings and photographs presenting the fascinating nature, ancient history and rich culture of Shusha, the cultural capital, were displayed of Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Husein Huseynov spoke about the irreplaceable place of Shusha in the history and culture of Azerbaijan, about the dedication and perseverance of the Azerbaijani people, who restored the cultural pearls there after the liberation of their lands from 30 years of occupation, as well as provided detailed information about culture and for the rich diversity of Azerbaijan.

The second exhibition "Harbybulbyul - a symbol of love and peace", organized by the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria, presents drawings by Bulgarian students from art studios with the image of a flower Haribbulbul or Caucasian Ofris. The Director of the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture Sofia Shigaeva-Mitreska pointed out that this type of orchid, a flower endemic to Azerbaijan, grows in the Shusha region of Azerbaijan and is a symbol of love and peace among the Azerbaijani people, as well as told the legend associated with the name of the flower. She also noted that the drawings are part of a project between the Center and the National History Museum of Azerbaijan implemented in March.

The opening of the two exhibitions was followed by a music-poetry evening with the participation of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Turan Manafzada, who performed national and classical compositions, accompanied by poetry of the Azerbaijani poets from the Karabakh region Agabeyim agha and Khurshidbanu Natavan in Azerbaijani and Bulgarian languages, performed by Sofia Shigaeva-Mitreska.

The event was attended by the mayor of the city of Sozopol, heads and members of diplomatic missions accredited in Bulgaria, cultural and public figures, local residents and guests of the city, as well as media representatives.

The evening dedicated to the cultural heritage of the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan is of great interest to those present at the "Soley" festival.
