On 16 April, a meeting was held in Brussels between the delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union with the objective of resuming negotiations on a new bilateral agreement and conducting the next round of discussions on the Partnership Priorities document.

The discussions, held in a constructive atmosphere, enabled a clearer mutual understanding of the parties’ respective positions on ocuments and contributed to the planning of the subsequent phases of the negotiations. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed that the next round of negotiations would take place in Baku in early June.
In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation comprised representatives from the Ministries of Economy, Justice, Energy, Digital Development and Transport, Finance, and Labour and Social Protection of the Population, as well as from the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee, the Central Bank, and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev also held separate meetings with Jan Dusík, Deputy Director-General for Climate Action at the European Commission, and Patrick Child, Deputy Director-General for Environment.
