No:009/22, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the exchange of congratulatory letters between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries
On January 14, 2022, the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey exchanged congratulatory letters on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov heartily congratulated his counterpart from the brotherly country on the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He noted that the relations with Turkey, the first country to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, have developed over the recent years in accordance with the views of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk "Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, Azerbaijan's sorrow is our sorrow" and national leader Heydar Aliyev's "One Nation, Two States". It was stressed that the current level of relations between our countries is based on the will of our peoples and the fraternal relations between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are at its historic peak and referred with satisfaction to the contribution of his counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu as well in raising relations between the two countries from a strategic level to an allied level.
It was noted that the support of brotherly Turkey for the just and fair position of our country at all levels during and after the Patriotic war was highly appreciated by the head of state and the Azerbaijani people in general.
It was stated that large-scale regional and global projects implemented jointly have contributed to regional development and further expansion of trade and economic ties between our countries, as well as the successful continuation of our cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States was also noted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed confidence that fraternal and allied relations between our countries will develop in an ascending line in accordance with the interests of our peoples.
In his turn, Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu sincerely congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart. He noted that the 71-year longing between Turkey and Azerbaijan ended with the protocol documents signed on January 14, 1992, and the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Baku, which began operating on that day, was the first embassy in Azerbaijan.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that our solidarity, built on unshakable bonds of brotherhood over the past 30 years, has been further developed under the inspiration of the close friendly relations between the two leaders. It was noted that the joint contribution of the two fraternal foreign ministers to the relations, brought to the level of alliance by the Shusha Declaration, is a source of pride and joy.
The Minister noted that the success of Azerbaijan, which liberated its territories from occupation, restored its territorial integrity and became a rising star of the region with its level of prosperity, has always been a source of pride and joy for Turkey. He stressed that, as they have done so far, they will continue to be persistent and determined to take our relations to a higher level.
Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed confidence that the successes achieved over the past 30 years by two brotherly countries will guide our future and that our fraternal relations will play an important role in establishing peace and stability in our region and the world. He wished the friendly and fraternal people of Azerbaijan prosperity and happy days, hoping that the restoration of diplomatic relations will benefit our states and peoples, and will continue for several more such 30 years.
