No:479/21, Information of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the participation of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in the discussions on Afghanistan within the framework of the Stockholm meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council
On December 2, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov took part in the discussions on "The impact of the situation in Afghanistan on the OSCE region" within the framework of the 28th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm.
During the discussions, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that peace and stability in Afghanistan are interrelated with the situation in the region.
Noting that Azerbaijan, as a state located in the neighborhood of the region, closely monitors the situation in Afghanistan, the Minister stressed the need for the international community to provide appropriate assistance to eliminate the humanitarian consequences of the situation in Afghanistan.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the impact of the events in Afghanistan on the stability and security of the OSCE member states neighboring Afghanistan and brought to the attention of the event participants that the OSCE could play an important role in strengthening border security, eliminating drug trafficking and other issues.
