28 May - Republic Day was celebrated in Sofia
On the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria and with the support of the Sofia City Municipality, a tree-planting ceremony was held in the South Park in Sofia on the occasion of 28 May - Republic Day.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Mr. Huseyn Huseynov made an opening statement and informed the participants of the event about the foundation of the first democracy in the Muslim world - the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) on May 28, 1918. He noted that this year the Azerbaijani people celebrated the Republic Day with a special sense of pride, along with the joy of the great victory during the Patriotic War, and that Azerbaijan had restored its territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
