Pasport

According to Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Passports", the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a uniform document issued to a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan to confirm his/her identity abroad, as well as to enjoy his/her right to leave and enter the country.

A passport is issued to every citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the procedure established by law and is valid for travel to all countries.

A passport is the property of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and its seizure from a citizen is strictly prohibited, except in cases provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

If a citizen loses his/her passport in Bulgaria, he/she must immediately inform the consular department of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria. The consular department will provide this citizen with a document entitling him/her to return to the Republic of Azerbaijan within a short period of time.

In accordance with the rules established by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Passports” and the Regulations on the Application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Passports”, the consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria provides the citizens temporarily and permanently residing in Bulgaria with an ordinary passport, which is prepared individually by the internal affairs authorities. For this purpose, the consular section receives the documents required for the issuance of an ordinary passport.

 

Validity period

 

An ordinary passport is issued for a period of 1 year for children under 1 year of age, 3 years for children from 1 to 3 years of age, 5 years for children from 3 to 18 years of age, and 10 years for persons who have reached the age of 18.

 

To obtain an ordinary passport, a citizen is required to present the following documents:

 

  1. application form which is filled out by a citizen who has reached the age of 18, by a citizen aged 15-18 and also by one of his/her parents or legal representative, and by only one of his/her parents or legal representative for citizens under the age of 15.
  2. passport or identity card
  3. document on payment of state fee
  4. Consent of parents or legal representatives of children under 18 years of age
  5. When a citizen under the age of 18 is issued an ordinary passport for the first time - a birth certificate and a medical certificate of blood type. 

 

State fees
 

According to Article 16.1.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On State Fees” dated 2001, a state fee of 25 US dollars is charged for the preparation and sending of documents related to the issuance of an ordinary passport at the embassy or consulate. The amount should be paid to the following bank account of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Bulgaria and the receipt of payment together with other documents should be submitted to the consular section of the Embassy.

The passport fee listed below must be paid, depending on the citizen's age, either online or in person by the applicant's relative/representative at ASAN Service centers or to the General Department of Passport, Registration and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Azerbaijan, and a copy of the payment receipt along with other documents must be submitted to the consular section of the Embassy:

 
15 manat for children under 1 year old

25 manat for children from 1 to 3 years old

35 manat for children from 3 to 18 years old

60 manat for citizens over 18 years of age
