The Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan met with the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Nataliya Kiselova in Baku
Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova met with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Nataliya Kiselova, who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 65th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC PA) held in Baku.
The Speaker expressed confidence that Natalia Kiselova's first visit to Azerbaijan will contribute to further strengthening relations between the two countries and parliaments.
The Speaker, as the acting chairperson of the BSEC PA, noted that the chairmanship of the BSEC PA will be transferred to the Bulgarian Parliament within the framework of the session, and said that this organization is an important platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation.
S.Gafarova noted that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are friendly and strategic partner countries. Political relations between the two countries and mutual visits of President Ilham Aliyev and President Rumen Radev play an exceptional role in the development of bilateral relations.
The Speaker of the Milli Majlis also said that one of the factors that has an important and positive impact on bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria is the mutual activity of our parliaments. The joint activity of interparliamentary friendship groups plays an important role in this area.
During the conversation, the development of relations between parliamentary committees and strengthening cooperation within international parliamentary organizations were also discussed.
The President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Nataliya Kiselova expressed her satisfaction with the high level of relations between two countries and noted that her visit is an indicator of these relations. She noted that the BSEC PA is an important platform for the development of bilateral relations.
N.Kiselova emphasized that the restoration of the Trapezitsa Archaeological Museum Reserve in Veliko Tarnovo with the financial support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was highly appreciated by the Bulgarian people.
During the conversation, the President shared his views on cooperation in regional and international parliamentary organizations, the activities of mutual parliamentary friendship groups, and the importance of parliamentary diplomacy.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of their interest in the meeting.
