Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with a delegation led by Foreign Minister of Bulgaria Georg Georgiev
The one-on-one meeting between the parties was later continued in an expanded format with the participation of delegations from both sides.
In the wide-ranging meeting, various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria strategic partnership, including economic, trade, energy security, green energy, humanitarian, cultural and other aspects, future plans, as well as regional and international security issues were discussed.
The importance of the existing political dialogue in the development of the existing strategic partnership between our countries was emphasized at the meeting. The existence of opportunities for cooperation in the economic and trade spheres was highlighted, and the role of the Joint Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria in this regard was noted.
It was emphasized that joint initiatives in the energy sector play an important role in ensuring Europe's energy security, and that there are broad prospects for further expansion of cooperation in this direction, especially for the implementation of new projects in the field of green energy.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the guests about the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period, the large-scale reconstruction and construction work carried out in the liberated territories, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process. He stressed that despite the agreement on the text of the peace treaty, the termination of the territorial claims in the Constitution and other legislative acts of Armenia against Azerbaijan, as well as official dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and related structures is the most important factor in this regard.
During the meeting, parties exchanged the views on other issues of mutual interest.
