President Ilham Aliyev received the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria

On 18 June, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Nataliya Kiselova, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

President Ilham Aliyev said that relations between the two countries are of a strategic nature, noting the mutual visits at various levels and the joint projects implemented in expanding bilateral cooperation. Emphasizing that political relations are at a high level, the President of Azerbaijan expressed satisfaction with the implementation of active interaction in the energy sector in recent years.

The President of Azerbaijan touched upon the importance of the President of National Assembly of Bulgaria Nataliya Kiselova's participation in the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization in Baku, expressing hope that the visit will be fruitful and will create a good opportunity to discuss issues related to the bilateral agenda.

Thanking the head of state for the reception, N.Kiselova expressed her satisfaction with the development of relations between the countries and emphasized the importance of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

Nataliya Kiselova recalled the restoration of the Trapezitsa Archaeological Museum Reserve in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, saying that it was highly appreciated by the Bulgarian people, and expressed gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, for the implementation of this project.

During the conversation, the importance of the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization held in Baku was touched upon, and the role of this event in expanding cooperation between the parliaments of the member states of the organization was emphasized. It was noted that the chairmanship of the Assembly had been transferred from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, and it was noted that Azerbaijan presided over this organization at a high level.

In the meeting, the successful cooperation and mutual support of the two countries within the framework of international organizations was appreciated, and it was highlighted that there are broad opportunities for further strengthening relations in economic and trade, energy, including renewable energy, and other areas.
